TERRA: Resonans danner optakten, når Skovhuset de kommende år stiller skarpt på forholdet mellem natur og mennesker. Med udstillingen introduceres et nyt, fleksibelt sæsonprogram, som strækker sig fra april til oktober - med plads til flere arrangementer, løbende ændringer i udstillingerne og visning af nye kunstprojekter, når de står klar. Det er et program, som er kalibreret til at skabe rum for kunstneres måde at arbejde med processer og performative handlinger, samtidig med der er plads til allerede eksisterende værker.

Udstillingen sætter gennem skiftende kunstneres værker fokus på oplevelsen af naturen som et rum, hvor man i glimt rammes af noget livsbekræftende. Man kunne kalde det en vibration eller resonans, hvor en gensidig påvirkning mellem natur og menneske skaber en følelse af tilstedeværelse og forbindelse.

I det moderne samfunds accelererende tempo og fokus på produktivitet kan vi mange gange have svært ved at indgå i en forbindelse med naturen på en meningsfuld måde. Det mener bl.a. den tyske sociolog Hartmut Rosa. I stedet har vi en tendens til at betragte naturen som en ressource eller et objekt vi kan forbruge – som et refugium vi søger ud til i længslen efter resonans og som modvægt til det accelererende samfund. Med klimaforandringer, faldende biodiversitet og pandemi er interessen for naturen taget til, ligesom vores bekymringer for fremtiden er blevet forstærket. I det ligger måske en frygt for at miste naturen som resonansrum, men måske også et håb om at komme den nærmere.

Det er i dette felt TERRA: Resonans vil kile sig ind og gennem skiftende kunstværker og arrangementer sætte tanker i gang om forholdet mellem natur og menneske. Med titlen TERRA, som refererer til både jordkloden, jordbunden og jord som element og stof, vil programmet løfte både store og små spørgsmål om natur og menneskes forbundethed, dykke ind længsler og undersøge samspil, bevægelser og modsætninger.

TERRA: Resonance is the prelude to Skovhuset Kunst & Natur’s focus on the relationship between nature and people the next years. The exhibition introduces a new, flexible seasonal programme that runs from April to October - with room for more events, ongoing changes to the exhibitions and the display of new art projects as they become available. It is a programme calibrated to create space for artists' ways of working with processes and performative actions, while also making room for existing works.

Through the works of various artists, the exhibition focuses on the experience of nature as a space where you in glimpses are struck by something life-affirming. You could call it a vibration or resonance, where a mutual influence between nature and man creates a sense of presence and connection.

In the accelerated pace of modern society and its focus on productivity, we often find it difficult to connect with nature in a meaningful way. This is, among others, described by German sociologist Hartmut Rosa. Instead, we tend to view nature as a resource or an object we can consume – as a refuge we seek out in a longing for resonance and as a counterbalance to an accelerating society. With climate change, declining biodiversity and the covid pandemic, interest in nature has increased, and our concerns for the future have intensified. This may be a fear of losing nature as a resonant space, but perhaps also a hope of getting closer to it.

This is where TERRA: Resonance will wedge itself in and, through changing artworks and events, provoke thoughts about the relationship between nature and man. With the title TERRA, which refers to the globe, the soil and earth as an element and substance, the programme will raise both big and small questions about the connection between nature and man, and delve into longings and explore interactions, movements and contradictions.
